Woah, ah, mercy, mercy me
Ah, things ain't what they used to be (ain't what they used to be)
Where did all the blue skies go?
Poison is the wind that blows
From the north and south and east

Woah mercy, mercy me, yeah
Ah, things ain't what they used to be (ain't what they used to be)
Oil wasted on the ocean and upon our seas
Fish full of mercury

Oh yeah, mercy, mercy me, ah
Ah, things ain't what they used to be (ain't what they used to be)
Radiation underground and in the sky
Animals and birds who live nearby are dying

The Changemakers: Autumn Peltier

Meet Autumn Peltier, a formidable water-rights activist from the Wiikwemkoong First Nation on Manitoulin Island in Canada.

Her journey began at just eight years old when she witnessed a warning about toxic water at a ceremony. By 12, Autumn boldly confronted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, advocating for water protection. Her activism has led her to speak at the United Nations World Water Day and earn recognition as a water protector by the Assembly of First Nations.

Invited to speak internationally, including at World Water Week in Stockholm, Autumn's voice resonates globally.

Now 18, she continues her unwavering fight for clean water access for Indigenous peoples. In her significant role as Chief Water Commissioner for the Aniishnabek Nation, Autumn stands as a young yet powerful force in the climate movement.
