Speaking of questions, where on earth to start in a world bombarded by greenwashing and people trying to squeeze profit and mileage from abuse of words like “natural” and “eco”?

It starts with the questions we train ourselves to ask. This week’s feature article will give you some tools to work with – important questions to ask when you’re out there, in the supermarket or online, considering buying something.

Read and share on your socials?  We love that!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK

One kind of natural impact we can all work on is to use the resources we do have fully - to use EVERYTHING - to squeeze every last drop out of something and produce less waste.

So when you make fresh fruit juice at home, what to do with the endless supply of leftover fruit pulp?

Here's a great vegan granola recipe that helps you enjoy all that natural fruit fiber, save money, and use your beautiful fruits fully.

Marike’s Eco Tip: Upcycling Empty Glass

One fabulous way to reuse empty glass jars is for storing food — leftovers, pulses and grains, spices, powdered goods, and even soup. They fit neatly in the fridge door. Not only are you RE-USING what others perceive to be a waste product, but you are also BUYING LESS and SAVING MONEY.

Bonus? Jar lids fit snugly and keep food fresher, and longer.

IN THE NEWS

Only an estimated one-third of the cigarette butts from the 18 billion cigarettes smoked worldwide every day end up in a rubbish or recycling bin.

This innovative joint project in Bratislava will see used cigarette filters made into special fibers that can then become an admixture for the preparation of asphalt to be used on road surfaces.

So are you inspired to make granola, or clean out those glass jars under the sink & re-use them?  What other things are you needing ideas for?

Hit us up with your questions via our socials. And don’t forget to subscribe. 🙂  Sharing this newsletter for us online or to a friend? That’s how the ripples gather strength.

Till next time — keep it natural and keep the changes coming so together we can make a bigger & more positive impact on Mother Earth.
